The reality that has moved in this direction is an Italian chemical analysis laboratory, which recovers the waste from the numerous South Tyrolean apple farms. Using the skins and cores discarded by these companies, the laboratory has managed to create an alternative to leather of animal origin.
The result is a material with a base of cellulose vegetable characterized by a variety of textures, thicknesses and colors. Appleskin is a leatherette versatile, highly performing and 100% cruelty free.
While the use of a natural raw material derived from production waste is commendable, Appleskin it uses only a small part of it, while the rest of the composition is synthetic: 38% polyurethane, 26% apple scraps, 20% polyester, 16% cotton.

How to wash Appleskin?
The environmental impact of laundry detergents and household cleaners is devastating to our planet, so we highly recommend using ecological detergents.
Appleskin it is an imitation leather and as such it requires a lot of attention during washing. Faux leathers are more delicate than leather of animal origin, so we recommend removing stains / encrustations with a smooth sponge soaked in a little water and a pinch of ecological detergent. If the stain persists, let it soak for 5/8 minutes.
